This week we’re visiting town and country. So get your coats, we’ll head off to Suffolk first to see this newly built property that is one of four overlooking the River Yox.
It’s on the market with The Modern House for £575,000 and the first thing to note is that the four bedrooms are on the ground floor so that the living space above can take advantage of the views. That won’t suit everyone already. The rest of you, step this way…
Now that, I believe, is what you might call a picture window. Nice innit. I would definitely be working at that table all day.
You can see from this picture that there are views on both sides with one going out to a balcony area. This one has the furniture just right – monochrome with splashes of pattern and lots of natural wood. I might add a few indoor plants – large ones – to tie the inside and outside together but otherwise I’m ready to go. Mind you, there are no pictures of the bedrooms…. just saying.
Next up I thought we’d take a trip over to Marylebone, in North London. To Fantasy Street as it shall be known. It’s on the market with Savills for £2,750,000 and it’s very grown up but there is something rather appealing about it. If you swapped some of the perfect finishes for a few more slightly duffed up antiques, it would be perfect. See what you think.
This room is very grown up but the colour combinations are good and I particularly love those two armchairs. As it is I couldn’t quite imagine myself relaxing this room despite the fact that it’s clearly comfortable and no expense has been spared.
Also good use of the black, white and gold rule in the dining room. I love the light and the picture. This time I think it’s the table and chairs.
But it’s good on bathrooms. Classic metro tiles, marble and gold mirrors. Not to mention bold use of navy blue in the one below. I’m about to paint my bathroom dark green and it’s going to look great. I also (don’t tell Him after yesterday’s light business) want to see if we can paint the outside of the bath like they have here but ours isn’t a technically paintable bath…. I’ll come back to you on that one….
Finally the kitchen. Again classic tiles and I love the parquet floor. It’s a split personality this flat – somehow the sitting room doesn’t quite fit with the rest.
Still we could make it work. Which one do you fancy this week? Town or Country?
